The largest re-provisioning project under Tuen Mun South Extension, the new Tuen Mun Swimming Pool, has been successfully completed and is scheduled to open on 24 Feb 2026.

To boost construction efficiency, MTR Corporation adopted the sliding method to install one of the pool’s largest structures — the roof truss. The steel roof, elevated 20 metres above ground, comprises seven truss sections with a total weight of 1,000 tonnes. Using two pre-installed tracks and hydraulic jacks on the concrete structure, the truss sections were safely and smoothly pushed into position. This sliding method minimised the working areas on the ground, enabling other works to be carried out at the same time of truss construction.

Re-provisioning Tuen Mun Swimming Pool is on the critical path of the A16 Station construction. The demolition of the original swimming pool is essential to give way for the A16 Station construction.
