The MTR Corporation maintains a close relationship with the local community when developing new railway projects. With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, the Tuen Mun South Extension (TME) project team sponsored and fully supported the “Joyful Get2gether Mid-Autumn Lantern-making Workshop”, a parent-child lantern painting workshop organised by the Tuen Mun Women’s Association to pass on blessings and share the festive joy. More than 100 parents and primary school students participated in workshop that was held at the LKWFSL Lau Tak Yung Memorial Primary School on 7 September 2024 and created interesting and unique three-dimensional lanterns under the guidance of the instructors from the Association. The lanterns were hung at the temporary bus stops at Wu King Road, which beautified the community with festive decorations.
In collaboration with the Tuen Mun District Women’s Association, the TME project team organised a parent-child lantern workshop, where children and their parents created lanterns to express festive wishes and anticipation for the commissioning of the new railway extension.
The project team took the opportunity to introduce the latest project progress, alongside sharing interesting railway and worksite safety tips to the Tuen Mun residents.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival, dozens of three-dimensional lanterns were displayed at the temporary bus stops provided under the TME project at Wu King Road, enhancing festive atmosphere of the community.
