The Tuen Mun South Extension construction works along the Tuen Mun River have commenced progressively, including foundation and structural works for the viaduct and A16 Station. The project team is setting up temporary rockfill and steel working platforms for the related works. The new viaduct will connect to the existing overrun facility at Tuen Mun Station and extend to the future terminus station near the Tuen Mun Ferry Pier.
During construction, to minimise any impact on the community and the river channel, the project team will implement proper mitigation measures and monitor water quality and noise regularly, achieving development along with environmental protection. Upon project completion, a train ride on the Tuen Ma Line from Tuen Mun Station to Tuen Mun South Station will take approximately 5 minutes without interchange, reducing travel time significantly.
