Tuen Mun South Extension Debuts in Tin Hau Festival Parade
Promoting New Railway Projects with Local Primary School and T Chai

MTR ambassador “T Chai” has put on his new engineering uniform and gone into the community to promote railway projects that are under construction. Together with the Tuen Mun South Extension (TME) project team, T Chai followed local customs by joining up with Yan Chai Hospital Ho Sik Nam Primary School to participate in the Tin Hau Festival Parade, a traditional annual event in Tuen Mun held on 20 April 2025.

Amid the lively beat of drums and gongs, 30 teams from various villages, local organisations and schools paraded along the route to Tuen Mun’s landmark Tin Hau Temple Plaza. Resonating fluttering flags and joyous cheers, energetic children dressed in mini PPE uniforms transformed into “little engineers”, carrying Tuen Ma Line train-like props through the streets. This symbolised the future connection of the new railway to the Tuen Mun South community, adding an element of surprise to the parade. The children also interacted with residents along the way, waving and engaging with the crowd, while their eye-catching costumes drew enthusiastic cheers from the audience, prompting many of them to capture the exciting moment with their phones.

On the stage at Tin Hau Temple Plaza, the “little engineers” teamed up with T Chai for a lively K-pop dance. The energetic performance won cheers from the audience and brought the event to a climax! The popular T Chai also took photos with locals at Tin Hau Temple Plaza, attracting crowds to snap a memorable shot. The project team and students took this opportunity to promote the TME project, connecting the younger generation and the community in an innovative and fun way, while also enhancing public awareness of new railway projects.
