To enhance local acceptance and encourage the community to embrace the Tuen Mun South Extension railway project, the TME project team collaborated with four schools in the Tuen Mun Ferry Pier area for a “Tuen Mun South Extension Project Hoarding Drawing Competition“ in late 2023. Under the theme of “My Ideal Railway Community”, the competition encouraged students to transform their anticipation towards the future railway and the community into vivid and fascinating drawings. The participating schools included YCH Law Chan Chor Si Primary School, Taoist Ching Chung Primary School (Wu King Estate), TWGHs Sun Hoi Directors’ College, and Carmel Bunnan Tong Memorial Secondary School.

A total of 75 entries were received. After two rounds of prudent review by the judging panel which consisted of representatives from the Project and the contractor, the top three drawings in four categories were identified based on thematic relevance, design concept elaboration, as well as creativity and colouring skills. The winning entries will be exhibited on the TME Tuen Mun South Section site hoarding, adding vibrant colours outside the works site, and allowing residents of the surrounding community to appreciate students’ creative achievements.
