Major works of the Tuen Mun South Extension (TME) project are progressing in full swing. The railway viaduct along the Tuen Mun River is gradually taking shape, with foundation and pier construction works proceeding smoothly and superstructure construction commencing progressively. Meanwhile, after two years of construction, the Tuen Mun Swimming Pool was successfully re-provisioned and upgraded by the end of 2025. Following the relocation and demolition of the original Tuen Mun Swimming Pool, full-scale construction of the A16 Station (temporary name) will soon begin.
To give the community a closer look at the latest project progress, the project team hosted the “Tuen Mun South Extension Exhibition” at Ocean Walk from 1 to 14 December 2025. The exhibition featured interactive displays that attracted many visitors.
“Project Progress” – A comprehensive exploration of the railway viaduct construction methods, key project milestones, and a forward-looking outlook for 2026.
“Re-provisioned Tuen Mun Swimming Pool” – An introduction to the upgraded facilities, along with location details and travel tips for the new pool.
Several project videos were showcased at the exhibition, including the debut of drone footage offering a bird’s-eye view of the construction progress along the Tuen Mun River and Wu King Road, giving residents a clearer understanding of the TME alignment. Additionally, a time-lapse video featuring the construction process of the new swimming pool provided an immersive experience for the audience.
The two-week exhibition attracted over 16,200 visitors. Residents expressed excitement about the railway extension to the Tuen Mun South community and appreciated MTR Corporation’s efforts to enhance community facilities alongside railway development, thereby improving quality of life. The exhibition also served as a valuable communication platform where the project team engaged with residents, exchanged views, and strengthened community ties.
Over ten “TME Railway Ambassadors” from YCH Law Chan Chor Si Primary School joined the event. They proudly introduced the TME project – a project growing alongside them – to visitors, bringing youthful charm and heartfelt passion to the exhibition. Their participation infused the exhibition with warmth and vibrancy, creating a friendly atmosphere that strengthened neighbourhood bonds.
